Groundbreaking on the Brentwood Village development is scheduled for late 2017 and initial demolition of an existing shopping center is set for late 2016.
Recently named RIA, the mixed-use development will include residences, a new town center, local shops, pedestrian walkways and green spaces. Plans call for a grocery store, 1,760 residences, a one-acre community green and a new street grid to connect the old and new sections of the neighborhood.
The first phase of construction in 2017 will include a 200-unit affordable housing building for seniors. The housing options at RIA will include rental apartments, townhouses, and market-rate and affordable housing.
