Council Chairman Phil Mendelson has announced a public hearing for the new street network through the RIA development. As set forth in the approved Master Site Plan, 14th Street, NE behind the Brentwood Village Shopping center is to be closed permanently and several new streets will be introduced to improve connectivity and traffic flow through the new community. The proposal has been fully approved by DDOT and other relevant utilities and agencies, and is now subject to consideration and approval by the District of Columbia city council.
